Angel Aguilar has been awarded the 2019 Kelly/Smead Founders Scholarship Award of $500 by the Jefferson Arts Committee.She was presented with  certificate at the Jefferson Township High School’s Awards Night in June prior to graduation.

Ranked 73 in her class with a weighted GPA of 3.595, she is planning on attending County College of Morris this fall to seek a degree in Secondary Education majoring in English and Fine Arts. Her goal is to have a career as a high school art teacher, and she hopes someday to offer her students the same inspiration she was shown by all of her teachers.

Angel has been on the High Honor Roll and received the Presidential Award for Academic Studies in her freshman year.  She was President of the Jefferson Township High School’s Art Club and Book Club for her four years at the Jefferson Township High School, performed community service for NORWESCAP and RSVP and participated in NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) Testing.

Chosen as an Art Student of the Month and having one of her art pieces accepted into the CCM Museum. Angel also enjoys reading and writing.
