The air traffic over Lake Hopatcong in Jefferson Township can be quite busy. Not only is the lake a landmark for frequent fliers out of Newark Liberty Airport to spot when traveling west or as a welcome home descending into Newark, it is home to a wide variety of water based birds. The more soothing and majestic overhead traffic comes from beating wings. The skies are endlessly filled with darting, gliding, and soring birds of all kinds.
