An art show highlighting local artists – seniors aged 60 and up or any person with a disability aged 18 and up – will feature works from a variety of media including photography, drawing, watercolor, oil, pastel, and acrylic painting.

The Senior and Persons with Disabilities Art Show will be on display during the month of May at the Morris County Library, 30 East Hanover Avenue, Whippany. Winners in each category will be selected by a judging panel of local art experts and enthusiasts.

The show is sponsored by NORWESCAP Skylands RSVP Volunteer Resource Center with funding from the Morris County Office on Aging, Disabilities, and Community Programming and the Morris County Freeholders.

“This show seems to get better each and every year,” said coordinator Nancy Hess, director of the RSVP Volunteer Resource Center. “The senior and disabled community has very talented artists, and this show is a great opportunity for them to show their work to the public.”

NORWESCAP (Northwest New Jersey Community Action Partnership) is a private non-profit corporation established in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act to benefit low-income populations through children’s services, case management, economic development, housing and energy, nutrition and health, information, and volunteer services.
