Lawrence Hsieh Recognized for Outstanding Performance

Bridge Marina awarded the 2018 Bridge Marina Scholarship to Lawrence Hsieh at its Labor Day event earlier this month. For the past 12 years, the marina has given a monetary scholarship to staff members in recognition of their outstanding performance, attitude, and commitment to customer service. The selection is based partially on feedback from dock slip and boating club members as well.

Hsieh has been on the Bridge Marina team for two seasons. Most guests find him in the office or on the fuel dock, assisting boaters in landing their craft. He likes helping guests to maximize their experience. “I really enjoy seeing how much our clients, from experienced boaters to first timers, enjoy themselves on the water with family and friends,” said Hsieh. “Lots of time and effort goes into getting boats ready for the season, tons of hard work from our amazing team, but seeing boaters really be present on the water – away from work and stress, just enjoying themselves on a boat – is rewarding. It’s crazy what experiences can come from just boating.”

Ray Fernandez, owner of Bridge Marina, said that “choosing just one of our team members to receive this award is always a challenge; we have a great team every season. However, I’m really proud this year to present the award to Lawrence, who has epitomized hard work, perseverance, and flexibility. He truly does an incredible job.”

Hsieh, 21, is a 2015 graduate of Randolph High School and currently lives in Hackettstown. During his time away from the marina, he enjoys traveling, sightseeing, and rooting for the New York Giants.

Past scholarship recipients include Jefferson residents Ben Castrogiovanni, Heather LaRose, William Caruso, Daniel Mickel, Dennis McCormick, Tom Jauch, and Scott King, as well as Sparta resident Andy Richards.

Bridge Marina is an award-winning boutique business offering new and pre-owned boat sales, a boating club, dock slip memberships, daily boat rentals, marine store, certified service department, marine-grade fuel, and more. It was nationally recognized twice as Marina of the Year and is the only freshwater marina in the Garden State certified by the Department of Environmental Protection as a “clean marina.” For more information, visit or call 973-663-1976.
