Join the Jefferson Arts Committee for a bus trip on Wednesday, October 17, to the Al Hirschfeld Theater in New York City for the 2 p.m. matinee performance of the Broadway musical sensation Kinky Boots.

Tickets are $128.50 per person for reserved center orchestra I seats (rows O, P, Q, and R), including round-trip bus transportation and driver gratuity. Departure is promptly at 10 a.m. from the parking lot of St. Thomas the Apostle Church (5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge). Participants will have time for lunch or a little sightseeing on their own before the show. Return to Jefferson is immediately following the performance.

The show revolves around Charlie, a factory owner struggling to save his family business, and Lola, a fabulous entertainer with a wildly exciting idea. With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, this unexpected pair learn to embrace their differences and create a line of sturdy stilettos unlike any the world has ever seen. But in the end, their most sensational achievement is their friendship. Featuring 16 original songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony-winning theater legend Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, this joyous sensation “struts its stuff with sparkles, stilettos, and heart.” Kinky Boots is Broadway’s “dazzling, sassy, and uplifting” experience.
