Rides, games, food, crafts, vendors, old-fashioned and new-fangled fun – it’s all coming to Jefferson from Wednesday, May 29 through Saturday, June 1. The annual carnival takes place at the Jefferson Township Middle School (1000 Weldon Road) from 6-10 each evening.
Entry to the carnival is free. Daily wristbands can be purchased for unlimited rides. Presale wristbands are available through May 28 at the discounted rate of $23 online at www.Campys.com. They can also be bought onsite for $30, in addition to individual ride tickets.
The carnival features games and events suitable for kids of all ages. Students and others will enjoy taking a chance at the dunk tank sponsored by the high school football team.
A 50/50 winner will be called daily at 9:30. Also, cumulative lottery tickets will be sold each evening, with one winner pulled on the last night of the carnival. In both cases, ticket-holders need not be present to win.
The merchants corner will showcase selected vendors and crafters to enhance the carnival experience, with some different vendors each night. On Friday, the town’s Recreation Department is sponsoring a Teen Scene event. For details, call 973-663-8404.
Lots of carnival food favorites will be available such as hot dogs, pizza, cheesesteaks, burgers, French fries, chicken fingers, shish kebabs, zeppole, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, and more.
The carnival is sponsored by the middle school and high school Parent-Teacher Associations. Proceeds will benefit children in both schools through the funding of activities and programs. To volunteer at the event, email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
