Anticipation is high as THE Carnival returns to Jefferson. Sponsored by the township’s high school and middle school PTAs, the Carnival begins on Wednesday, May 30 and runs through Saturday, June 2. The event takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the middle school (1000 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge).

The annual event will feature traditional favorites such as rides, food, and 50/50s every night. There will also be select vendors and crafters, art projects and face-painting for a nominal fee, and Teen Scene Night on Friday.

Hungry? Try pulled pork, deep-fried hot dogs, cheese steaks, burgers, French fries, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, and much more.

Daily wristbands for unlimited rides can be purchased online through May 29 at the discounted rate of $23 (visit Campy’s Amusements). Wristbands purchased at THE Carnival are $30 per night. Height restrictions apply to some rides.

THE Carnival co-chairs are Dina Troha, president of the middle school PTA, and Eric Wilsusen, president of the high school PTA.

“A fundraiser of this size is a huge undertaking, and in order to make it successful, we need the help of many volunteers,” Troha tells The Jefferson Chronicle. “We are looking for people to help with event operations, sell tickets, sell 50/50s, and run the games. Please sign up for as many time slots as you are willing to help with.”
