Food Truck Festival, Concert, Fireworks on Saturday, July 13
Jefferson Fest III – the annual food truck festival with a concert and fireworks – will take place on Saturday, July 13. The Jefferson Arts Committee (JAC) invites local nonprofit organizations, churches, and groups (no businesses) to provide a free carnival type game or activity for children. No products or services can be sold and no political or religious undertones are permitted.
The activities will be presented for children to enjoy on the field from 5-7 p.m. before the main stage concert. During that time, the JAC will have a face painter and DJ Earl will play musical games with the kids.
Sponsors will be assigned a free 8’ x 10’ space on the high school field (1010 Weldon Road). They are responsible to set up and clean up their area. The space can include a pop-up tent, chairs, and an identifying banner or sign. Sponsors have the option to award a small prize or trinket to participants.
To reserve a space, email Jeffersonartscomm@hotmail.com as soon as possible. Describe the proposed game/activity and provide full contact information (group name and contact name with phone and email). Proposals will be reviewed by the JAC for appropriateness and avoidance of duplicates. Accepted activities will be included in event publicity.
This idea stems from the JAC’s desire to offer more children’s activities, although the committee does not currently have sufficient volunteers to do so. Local groups can obtain exposure for their organizations while providing simple, old-fashioned fun for youngsters. Visit the following sites for inexpensive ideas:
