Code Club, an after-school program, introducing computer coding to children ages 9-13, is coming to the Jefferson Township Public Library at 4 p.m. on Friday October 18, November 1, and November 15.

At each meeting of the Library Code Club, participants will use Scratch, a programming language that allows the use of code blocks to create computer games, animations and websites.

Code Club participants will use the library’s laptop computers and create a free Scratch account that they can continue to use at home.

Library Director, Seth Stephens, says the goal of the library’s Code Club is for children to have fun while exploring technology and computer programming.  Stephens he want the children to experience the joy of learning something new.

Each meeting of the Library Code Club will be independent of the others so participants do not have to attend every meeting.
