Country Comfort will perform a free show on Friday evening, August 10. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the beautiful Victorian gazebo in the Jefferson Township municipal complex (1033 Weldon Road).
The group hails from West Milford and is North Jersey’s top contemporary country cover band. Country Comfort was voted champion of New York’s NASH FM 94.7 Battle of the Country Bands.
Members include Dan Altana (guitars, vocals), Sarah Glynn (vocals), Dan Zimmermann (drums, vocals), Pat Burns (pedal steel guitar, vocals), Ken Esposito (bass guitar, vocals), and Jeff Kurtz (guitars). They have performed at Six Flags Great Adventure, the Mohawk House, Warwick Valley Winery, and the New Jersey State Fair earlier this week.
Country Comfort covers the latest hits from today’s top male and female country sensations: Miranda Lambert, Shelton Blake, Jason Aldean, Chris Young, Lady Antebellum, and the Band Perry, to name a few. They also play a few old classics now and then. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/NJCountryComfort.
Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort. Non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted unless the concert is moved indoors to the air-conditioned high school auditorium (across the road) due to weather conditions. For information and updates, call 973-697-2032 or 697-3828 or visit www.jeffersonarts.org or www.jeffersontownship.net.
Dancing and singing along are encouraged at the summer concerts, which are sponsored by the Jefferson Arts Committee. Free-will donations are gratefully accepted.
Additional free concerts will be held at the gazebo on August 17 (Rave On) and August 24 (Tequila Rose). Free parking is available at the municipal complex, with overflow parking by the Creative Playground and across the street at the Board of Education’s bus compound.
