Tequila Rose will perform on Friday evening, August 24, concluding the eight-part free summer concert series. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the beautiful Victorian gazebo in the Jefferson Township municipal complex (1033 Weldon Road).
The group has become one of New Jersey’s hottest “new country” bands over the last several years by mixing the best of today’s country music with classic country hits of the past, and sprinkling in a little rock ’n’ roll as well as southern rock. Known for three-part harmonies, they have kept crowds singing and dancing at many of the area’s top clubs (including Bar A in Belmar and Prospector’s in Mt. Laurel), at summer festivals and concerts, and at private parties. Visit http://tequilaroseband.com to meet the band members, who are all talented professional musicians: Rick Newport (lead vocals, lead guitar, harmonica), John Brite (lead vocals, lead guitar), Joe Luongo (bass, vocals), and Elliott Rubinich (drums).
Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort. Non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted unless the concert is moved indoors to the air-conditioned high school auditorium (across the road) due to weather conditions. For information and updates, call 973-697-2032 or 697-3828 or visit www.jeffersonarts.org or www.jeffersontownship.net.
Dancing and singing along are encouraged at the summer concerts, which are sponsored by the Jefferson Arts Committee. Free-will donations are gratefully accepted.
Free parking is available at the municipal complex, with overflow parking by the Creative Playground and across the street at the Board of Education’s bus compound.
