Jefferson Township mayor Eric Wilsusen has confirmed a sixth COVID-19 related fatality.

The decedent, an 84-year-old male suffering preexisting chronic conditions, passed away on April 18. Any close contacts have been identified and notified and are self-quarantining per State protocol.

As of 8 p.m. on April 25, there have been 163 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson Township and six COVID-19-related deaths. Seventy-seven of these individuals have been cleared of active disease status, and the remaining active cases are recovering and receiving treatment as necessary. Negative test results have been reported for 215 individuals.
