Saturday, July 14, will usher in the second annual Jefferson Fest food truck festival, concert, and fireworks celebration on the fields of Jefferson Township High School (1010 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge). DJ Earl Heller of Sound Solutions Entertainment will get the celebration going at 5:00 p.m.

DJ Earl, well known at many functions in the Jefferson community, will play a great variety of music and offer some fun activities for children. A former township resident, he is an accomplished bass guitarist and a member of 215 The Band. He deejays at Mennen Arena for Friday Night Skates, Jefferson Township Teen Scene, dance parties at Camp Jefferson Summer Day Camp, and the annual Jefferson Township Fall Festival and Haunted House events. His outgoing personality draws in people of all ages.

While DJ Earl is entertaining the crowd, food trucks will open at 5:30 to offer a variety of menus: Cheezen, Surf & Turf, Empanada Guys, Jersey Johnny’s, Good Food=Good Mood, Pizza Vita, Oink and Moo, Jumbo Jr. Ice Cream, and Maddalena’s Cheesecake. Bring a chair or blanket and find a place on the field to eat, listen to DJ Earl, and have fun with family and friends before the concert and fireworks begin.

Bounce Around will offer a 25-foot climbing rock wall from 5:00-9:00 (nominal fee). Climbers will be fitted with a safety harness and attempt to reach the top. This activity is suitable for all ages and no experience is necessary.

New for 2018 is the Wanderbus Photo Booth. For a nominal fee, take a photo with friends or family members in black and white, color, or sepia using some of the most trendy photo booth props around. Photos can be printed on the spot and shared immediately on social media.

The Cameos take the main stage at 7:15 for a two-hour live concert that will transport listeners back to the time when it all started – the vocal group harmonies of the 1950s and 1960s and the glory days of early rock and roll. Dance to the band’s energy and showmanship.

The Jefferson Arts Committee will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets for a drawing at 9:20. Food trucks will continue offering delicious refreshments throughout the evening.

The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display choreographed by Interstate Fireworks. The company has presented its fantastic show in Jefferson Township for more than two decades.

Admission and parking (including handicapped parking) are free throughout the event. The following are absolutely prohibited: alcohol, smoking, drugs, fireworks, bicycles, pets or animals of any kind, large coolers, backpacks, drones.
