The free Wild and Scenic Film Festival on Tour will be hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation on Saturday, July 13, from 6-9 p.m. at The Growing Stage (7 Ledgewood Avenue, Netcong). The venue is in the renowned Palace Theater, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The festival – a collection of films that address the environmental concerns and celebrations of our planet – is a natural extension of the foundation’s work to inspire people to act on behalf of the environment. Although there is no charge to attend, reservations are required by calling 973-663-2500. Doors open at 6, and the shows start at 7.

The film festival is being presented in conjunction with the free Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit at the Lake Hopatcong Environmental and Cultural Center (125 Landing Road, Landing) from July 1 through August 10. The exhibit is part of a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
