The Jefferson Township Falcons open the 2017 football season Friday, September 8 by traveling up Route 23 to face the Wildcats of High Point Regional High School with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.

Now in his second season at JTHS, Head Football Coach Jerry Venturino has a team that may lack the experience of last year’s squad but will make up for it in effort, enthusiasm, speed, and athleticism.

Venturino pointed to the unity and intelligence of his young Falcons. “They’re a smart team. They get excited when they come to practice and they’re getting better every day with each snap, each rep.”

The Wildcats are an experienced well-coached team with a lot of second and third year starters and are coming off a season where they made it to the state playoffs and, as a #8 seed, upset the top seed in their bracket.

High Point Regional High School is located at 299 Pigeon Hill Road in Sussex, New Jersey.
