The Morris Area Genealogy Society invites the general public to a free presentation, Tuesday, April 4, “Would I Lie to You? The Many Ways in Which Our Ancestors Lead Us Astray,” at 7 p.m. at the Morris County Library.

Popular speakers Nancy C. Nelson and Carol M. Sheaffer will show how incorrect or inaccurate records can lead our family history research in false directions and bring us to wrong conclusions. Between them, the two genealogists have fifty years of research in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and plenty of experience with sketchy “facts” in respectable sources.

The Morris Area Genealogy Society meets the first Tuesday of the month in the large public meeting room at the Morris County Library (30 East Hanover Avenue in Whippany). Refreshments and a sharing table precede the meeting at 6:30 p.m. For more information, please check the group’s website, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~njmags.
