Are you the curious type? Constantly asking Siri or Alexa to find information? Do you have an insatiable appetite for facts? Want to know more about what is going on in Jefferson Township? How the town’s government works? Wonder about the town’s schools? How organizations contribute to Jefferson’s quality of life? And do you have a flair for writing, or a desire to put your curiosity to work as a reporter?
Really? You are? You do?
Well, you might be just the person we are hoping to find!
The Jefferson Chronicle is looking to hire enthusiastic contributing writers to expand our outstanding staff of freelance reporters. Our hyper-local online news platform – www.thejeffersonchronicle.com – is growing by leaps and bounds, and we need freelance writers to help us supplement and increase our coverage.
Members of The Chronicle’s freelance staff are assigned to cover and report on evening meetings, daytime/evening events, sports, school activities, local organizations, and more – all within the township. If able, they may be asked to provide photography coverage as well. Payment is per assignment.
Candidates with reporting/writing experience are preferred, but enthusiastic beginners are more than welcome to apply. We will closely mentor and support beginners and provide guidance for those with experience.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter in the body of an email with their resume, or summary of work experience, attached. If you have experience, please provide links to your work. Email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Chronicle looks forward to hearing from you!
