The annual Jefferson Fest returns on Saturday for the second year, replacing the traditional Jefferson Township Day that was held for 30 years. The township and the Jefferson Arts Committee invite everyone to enjoy the activities, food trucks, concert, and fireworks.

Jefferson Fest II at a glance:

Children’s Fishing Contest
Where – Fishing Education Pond (across from high school)
When – 1:00-3:00
What – All boys and girls up to 15 years of age may participate in the catch-and-release contest at no charge. Pre-registration is not necessary. Children must bring their own bait and fishing equipment.

Irish Road Bowling
Where – Catholic Charities Way off Weldon Road (Wiegand Farm)
When – 3:00
What – Teams use a small, dense, black ball to bowl on the road. The most common approach is an underhand fast-pitch softball throw with a running start. The winning team completes the course with the least number of throws (similar to scoring for golf).

Food Trucks
Where – High school field
When – 5:30 on
What – Cheezen, Surf and Turf, Empanada Guys, Jersey Johnny’s, Oink and Moo BBQ, Good Food=Good Mood, Pizza Vita, Jumbo Jr. Ice Cream, Maddalena’s Cheesecake

DJ and Children’s Activities
Where – High school field
When – 5:00-7:00
What – DJ Earl Heller of Sound Solutions Entertainment will play a great variety of music and offer amusements for children. There will also be a 25-foot rock climbing wall and other activities.

50/50 Raffle
Where – High school field
When – 5:00-9:00
What – The Jefferson Arts Committee will sell 50/50 raffle tickets for a drawing at 9:20.

The Cameos
Where – High school field
When – 7:15-9:15
What – Two-hour live concert will transport listeners back to the time when it all started – the vocal group harmonies of the 1950s and 1960s and the glory days of early rock and roll. Dance to the band’s energy and showmanship.

Where – High school field
When – 9:30
What – Spectacular aerial fireworks display staged and choreographed by Interstate Fireworks, the company that has been presenting a fantastic show in Jefferson for more than two decades (during the former Jefferson Township Day events).
