JTConnect and the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign will join with thousands of people nationwide in a Hike for Hope on Saturday, May 19. The second annual event, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will be hosted at Camp Jefferson (81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong).

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the hike will start at 10. Two different courses will be offered: a short hike for beginners around a beautiful lake and a longer, moderate course. Friendly dogs on leashes are welcome.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is at the forefront of research, education, and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and more than one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP’s mission has never been greater.

Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible. Visit https://afsp.donordrive.com/event/JTCHike to donate and register for the hike. Call Dana at 973-219-6191 or email jeffersontownshipconnect@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
