Join with thousands of people nationwide this spring to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In Jefferson, the third annual Hike for Hope is being hosted by JTConnect.

Hike for Hope is the township’s kickoff in the statewide Mayors Wellness Campaign, a program providing mayors with tools and strategies to champion healthy and active living and improve the overall health of their communities.

On Saturday morning, May 18, the event begins at Camp Jefferson (81 Weldon Road) with registration at 9 and the hike at 10. Two courses are offered: a beginner level short walk around a beautiful lake and a longer hike requiring moderate effort.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education, and prevention initiatives designed to reduce suicide. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and more than a million worldwide, the organization’s mission is urgent. All donations are 100% tax deductible and will support the work of AFSP.
