The second annual Jefferson Fest brought the community together on Saturday, July 14, for a wonderful evening of dining, dancing, climbing, and fireworks. The event began with an afternoon children’s fishing contest and Irish road bowling prior to later activities on the high school field.
The evening crowd was entertained by DJ Earl Heller, who played music and kept the children involved. There was also a rock climbing wall. Then The Cameos took the stage, playing classics including Neil Diamond and the Four Seasons as well as some patriotic favorites. Their music got people out of the chairs and onto the dance area in front of the stage.
There was no shortage of food truck vendors with a variety of victuals to tempt all taste buds – burgers, barbecue, tacos, lobster rolls, empanadas, cheesecake, ice cream, and more. The vendors included Jersey Johnny’s Grill, Eat My Balls, Oink and Moo, Surf and Turf, The Empanada Guy, The Ice Cream Truck, and Maddalena’s Cheesecake.
A half-hour fireworks show started about 9:30 p.m. It was an impressive display that culminated in an exciting grand finale.
The event was sponsored by the Jefferson Arts Committee and the township.
