Open House at the Museum on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2

The Jefferson Township Museum (315 Dover-Milton Road) will be open with free admission during the Christmas in the Village celebration. Hours are from 10-4 on Saturday, December 1, and 1-4 on Sunday, December 2.

“A Gingerbread Christmas” is the theme of this year’s decorations, arranged by members of the Museum Garden Club and the Jefferson Township Historical Society. Docents dressed in period costumes will be on hand to talk about the Victorian home … hot mulled cider will be served outside by the potbellied stove on the banks of the brook … and Mrs. Santa Claus will make an appearance.

Be sure to visit Miss Elizabeth’s Shoppe, located in the original kitchen of the house. Collectibles, handmade and handcrafted items, jewelry, and gift items will be offered for sale at very reasonable prices for holiday shopping.

Also known as the George Chamberlain House, the museum is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. For further information, visit the Jefferson Township Historical Society website at or call president Christine Williams at 973-697-0258.
