Despite Mother Nature’s best attempts to fool us, thoughts turn to spring and the museum reopens this weekend.

On Friday March 24, we will begin our second season of monthly Friday night openings with a special salute to skate sailing at Lake Hopatcong, utilizing items from the archives of the Skate Sailing Association of America. This weekend’s display includes many items pertaining to the sport that was once so popular here, when Lake Hopatcong was a center of the skate sailing world. The museum will be open from 5 PM to 8 PM. Stop by before or after dinner! The museum will also be open on Sunday, March 26 from 1 PM-4 PM.

Our first newsletter of the season will be in the mail shortly. Please note that the July program – The Lundin Family Collection, Lake Hopatcong Photographed from the 1930s-1970s – will be held on Wednesday, July 5 at the Jefferson House (a slight date change to our previously announced program schedule). A full list of our 2017 programs can be found at http://www.lakehopatconghistory.com/Hours/.
