The Jefferson Lightning 12U team just completed its 2017 regular season with a record of 9-1.  They compete in the Montville Travel Baseball League, facing teams from Nutley to Mt. Olive.

As a team they played the game very tight defensively, allowing only 13 errors through 10 games.  Everyone contributed offensively to establish and maintain a .408 team batting average, along with an on base percentage team average of .490.  The team scored 135 runs over ten games (12 home runs) and allowed 50 runs against.

On the pitching front they had six boys who threw in games and they kept an amazing team ERA to 3.56, and a two to one strikeout to walk ratio.  They head into the playoffs with what should be a top three seed.

Along with the upcoming playoffs, this team is heading down to the Ripken Experience in Aberdeen MD for the Memorial Day weekend tournament.  Last year they finished fifth out of 28 teams from around the country.
