Local and Area Residents Invited to Attend

The Morris County Board of Freeholders will meet in Jefferson Township on Wednesday, September 12, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building (1033 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong). The event is part of a continuing tradition of holding “road meetings’’ to bring county government closer to constituents.

“We really enjoy taking our Board of Freeholder meetings on the road because it gives us a great opportunity to interact with local officials,” said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana. “We have an opportunity to meet county residents in the places where they live, work, and go to school.”

“It gives local residents a chance to present issues of regional concern directly to the freeholders so we can better understand and focus on their needs,’’ added Deputy Freeholder Director Christine Myers.

The freeholders meet twice monthly, usually on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings, at the County Administration and Records Building in Morristown. The public can comment at those meetings. The board also holds public work sessions at 9:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month and 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday.
