Milton First Aid Squad Expresses Thanks
Sunday, May 20, marked the beginning of the 44th annual National EMS Week. This commemoration acknowledges the hard work and commitment of local emergency medical services throughout the country.
To kick off the celebration, the Milton First Aid Squad (MFAS) hosted a bingo event for members and their friends and families on Sunday. “Everyone had a frustratingly wonderful time and the whole event embodied the appreciation we feel for these under-recognized, hardworking volunteers,” said Jim Dougherty, a member of the squad and the EMS Week committee.
Prizes were donated by local businesses. Dougherty told The Jefferson Chronicle, “We would like to recognize the local merchants who enthusiastically contributed to this day of gratitude and goodwill.”
He added, “It should be noted that none of the local businesses that were asked to participate declined to do so.” If a business is not listed, he said, it is simply because a request was not made this year.
MFAS thanks and acknowledges the following businesses:
The Feisty Pepper – fresh and local produce, eggs, and flowers
Evergreen Restaurant – fresh, fast, delicious
Uncle Bob’s BBQ – cooks for hours and sells out in minutes
Pinto’s Pizza – when quality is a standard, not a goal
AJ’s Country Cone – where a great day goes for dessert
NAPA Auto Parts – taking care of your automotive needs
The Milton Inn Restaurant – longtime neighbor, always something new
Ding Dong Deli – what you need, when you need it … plus coffee
The UPS Store – all your shipping solutions; more than boxes and tape
