Police: Dog Falls Through Ice, Furnace Fire, DWI

Police responded to Wild Way on Feb. 1 for the report of a dog that fell through the ice. Upon arrival they observed the dog in the water. Jefferson Fire Company #2 and the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad were dispatched and responded. Jefferson Fire Company #2 saved the dog and return him to his owner.

Stephen Hegarty, 49 years old, of Newfoundland NJ, was arrested for DWI on Feb. 4 after rolling his Razor ATV on MaryAnn Road.  He was processed, issued the appropriate summonses, and released pending a court appearance.

A furnace fire resulting in extensive damage to the victim’s home on Feb. 4. Jefferson Fire Company #1 and #2 and Jefferson Township Rescue Squad responded.

During a motor vehicle stop on Feb. 19, Raymond Kenny, 30 years old, of Bayville NJ, was arrested for possession of marijuana. Kenny was processed and issued summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
