A 25-year-old male was struck by a vehicle in the area of 619 Route 15 South at approximately 1:09 a.m. on February 2, 2020, according to Jefferson Township police. The vehicle left the scene, police said.

Following the crash, first arriving officers identified the male victim in the shoulder of the roadway with injuries to the head and upper body.  The male was transported by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle that struck the male has been identified and the incident remains under investigation. Police have declined to name either party at this time.

Numerous mutual aid and law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation, including the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad, the Jefferson Township Fire Company #2, the Jefferson Township Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office – Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
