Envision riding in comfort to New York City to see Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular at a discounted group rate! The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip on Friday, November 9 – during the NJEA teachers’ convention when schools are closed, so bring the kids. Participants will have time to sightsee and eat before the 2:00 performance.
Radio City feels like Christmas when you walk through the doors of the magnificent music hall. You pause for a moment to admire the art deco lobby before finding your seat. Slowly and quietly, the curtain rises … the music swells … and the Rockettes appear. Perfectly in unison, they dance across the stage, mesmerizing the audience. And just like that, you are transported to a place where reindeer prance and dash through the snow, ragdolls spring to life, and wooden soldiers march in a fantastic parade. For a time, the hustle and the bustle of the outside world disappear, and you are reminded of the true meaning and spirit of the holiday season. Then, in the blink of an eye, the curtain falls and you know Christmas is coming.
Tickets are $97 each; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets include reserved orchestra seating (sections 3 and 5, rows L to P), round-trip motor coach transportation, and driver gratuity. Be ready to board the two buses at Camp Jefferson (81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong) no later than 8 a.m. Buses will depart at 8:15 sharp and will not wait for latecomers. The return from New York will be immediately after the show, at approximately 3:45. Departures are earlier than usual due to anticipated traffic resulting from the current Lincoln Tunnel project.
Registration must be completed online through Community Pass. Visit https://register.communitypass.net/reg/index.cfm and follow the prompts to enter or set up an account through the Jefferson Township community and choose the “Summer-Fall 2018” season. Full payment can be made at checkout by credit card, subject to a bank convenience fee, or choose Send Payment to deliver a check, cash, or money order to the Recreation Department office (Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong) within three business days. Checks (no cash) can also be mailed to the office, postmarked the day of registration or the next business day. If full payment is not received in the office within three business days of registration, tickets may be sold to other customers.
