Preposterous situations, absurdity, a bit of slapstick, an implausible plot and a cast of somewhat stereotypical characters. Sound a bit farcical? Indeed, it does.

This weekend, a troupe of actors from the township’s high school will present its ‘Fall Drama,’ Neil Simon’s farce, Rumors, which originally had a Broadway run of 535 performances. Unfortunately, however, the play will have a run of only two nights here in Jefferson Township. But from the looks of a rehearsal this week, the young thespians will certainly do justice to the ‘80s comedy, a celebratory dinner party that goes hysterically awry.
