Scouts in BSA Troop 49 recently traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for their annual Troop Family Trip. The Scouts camped at Camp Guyasuta in Sharpsburg for two nights, while families stayed in nearby hotels.
Over the course of two days, the Scouts and their families visited popular sites including the Pittsburgh Zoo, with its many animals and a great aquarium; the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, where they especially enjoyed the dinosaur display; the historical Duquesne Incline, which offers a fine view of the Pittsburgh skyline; and the Carnegie Museum of Science, which includes many interesting hands-on exhibits. They also held an ecumenical service on Sunday.
In previous years, the troop visited Boston, Massachusetts; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Scranton, Pennsylvania; Mystic, Connecticut; and Washington DC.
Troop 49 serves the Milton section of Jefferson, with membership open to males ages 11-17. Those interested in joining the fun or learning more may contact Greg Bubniak at Gregory.email@example.com.
