The Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) Club at Jefferson Township High School is raising awareness and funds during the holiday season by distributing free candy canes at Christmas in the Village on Saturday, December 1.
Student club members will be dressed in T-shirts that combine the logos of SU2C and the Falcons. Donations are welcome, and can be given to the students directly or mailed to the club’s attention at Jefferson Township High School (1010 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07462). The club’s advisor is English teacher Patty Vandigriff.
Stand Up to Cancer is a charitable program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which brings together television networks and entertainment stars for an annual telethon featuring music, laughter, and inspiration. Funds are distributed by the American Association for Cancer Research.
According to the organization, “100% of donations received from the public support Stand Up to Cancer’s collaborative research programs. This funding eliminates barriers to innovation and brings together scientists and researchers from multiple institutions and disciplines. This research strategy pushes forward big ideas and brings groundbreaking new therapies to patients in record time.” For more information, visit https://standuptocancer.org.
