Jefferson Township Teen Scene, in conjunction with the Recreation Department, offers resident teens in grades 6 through 9 a place to gather in a safe and supervised environment.

Activities, programs, and special events take place at Camp Jefferson and/or other designated sites in town. Teen Scene offers opportunities to foster positive experiences and strengthen social bonds in a clean, drug-free environment where students can relax, take advantage of the activities/program, and be themselves.

Events are themed and well planned. A safe environment is provided by peer chaperones (high school students in grades 10-12) and parent volunteers. Most events take place on the third Friday of the month. Parents of registered teens will be notified of upcoming events by email.

All Teen Scene participants must live in Jefferson and be registered; guests are not permitted. A registration fee of $40 covers a full year of membership, and a few events may require an extra fee.

Basic rules and regulations ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Failure to comply will result in parental notification and/or suspension of attendance privileges. Rules may be viewed at (click on Form Center, then Recreation).

Registration is online only at Log on or follow the prompts to create an account and register your child for the season beginning June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019. Fees can be paid upon checkout by credit card (with a bank charge added), or select Send Payment to deliver or mail a check to the Jefferson Township Recreation Department at Camp Jefferson (81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong) within three days of registration. The membership fee must be paid in full before teens attend their first event.
