A free workshop on transitioning into high school will be held on Wednesday, June 13, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the middle school media center. Students currently in 8th grade and their parents/guardians are invited to participate.

The event is hosted by the Jefferson Township Municipal Alliance Committee and the Jefferson Township Education Association and Municipal Organizations. Refreshments and resources will be available starting at 6:00.

The workshop will feature Diane Lang, a certified life coach, positive parenting life coach, and therapist who will help parents to identify their concerns. Jennifer Poquette, an alumna of Jefferson Township High School with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology, will speak to students about the fears, anxiety, self-doubt, and worry that may occur during the change from middle school to high school. Together the speakers will help parents and students develop ways to ensure a smooth transition, which is the foundation to ensuring a successful academic year.

Registration is required and limited to 100. To register, visit www.jeffersonteam.org.
