Transition is change. As with any change, the transition to middle school can bring fear, anxiety, self-doubt, worry, and a host of other emotions. Helping students and their parents to identify concerns and develop ways to ensure a smooth transition is the foundation to ensuring a successful academic future.

A program for 5th graders and their parents will be held in the middle school media center on Thursday, May 16, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (followed by Q&A). The speakers are Diane Lang (certified positive psychology coach, therapist with DLCounseling) and Jennifer Poquette (master of arts in clinical psychology, Jefferson graduate). Register online at www.jeffersonteam.org.

The program is sponsored by JTEAM (Jefferson Township Education Association and Municipal Organizations) through a PRIDE in Public Education grant in partnership with the Jefferson Township Municipal Alliance Committee.
