Coronavirus has struck two of Jefferson’s most awaited events this season: The Jefferson Fest fireworks and the annual Haunted House.

The fireworks were postponed from July 11 to a date in September. However, the township administration has decided based on the current outdoor gathering order limit of 500, the event will need to be cancelled.

“We were hoping to reschedule in September but feel it will not be possible under the current order,” officials said. “Jefferson Fest will hopefully return on July 10th, 2021.”

Likewise, organizers of the annual Haunted House, which normally takes place at Camp Jefferson in mid-October, has been cancelled for 2020 because, “we cannot meet social distancing guidelines to be able to safely proceed with our event,” according to a notice on the group’s Facebook page. “We hope to see you in 2021.”
