On Wednesday, August 1, at approximately 8 p.m., a 2004 Harley Davidson traveling west on Berkshire Valley Road left the roadway, hitting the curb and then striking the end of the guide rail in front of 5477 Berkshire Valley Road.

Both riders were ejected off the motorcycle, landing approximately 25 to 30 feet away. The riders, one from Rockaway and the other from Newton, were taken to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition. Their names are not being released at this time.

Police were assisted by Milton First Aid Squad, Jefferson Township Fire Department #1, St. Clare’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit, Atlantic Heath Medevac 3, and Hackensack Medevac.

According to detective Joseph Kratzel, the accident is still under investigation and more details will be released when available. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and officer Rodger Davis are continuing the investigation.
