Jefferson Twp. Police Officers responded to 5774 Berkshire Valley Road on Tuesday evening for the a report of a male who was reported to be suicidal, and in possession of illegal narcotics.  Additional unsubstantiated reports indicated he may also be in possession of a weapon.

Officers were given a description of the male and the vehicle he was operating which was observed in the parking lot of 5774 Berkshire Valley Road.  The male was identified by officers as David Good, 31, from Oak Ridge, NJ.

As Officers attempted to speak with Good, he fled on foot into the wooded area behind 5774 Berkshire Valley Road.  Police established a perimeter and conducted a search of the wooded area.

Upon searching the area for several hours, police apprehended Good without further incident or injury.  Good was taken into custody and transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing on August 26.

Jefferson’s officers were assisted by the Morris County Sheriff’s Department, K-9 Unit and Morris County Sheriff’s Department Officers, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, West Milford Police Department,, Morris County Park Police and Jefferson Township Office of Emergency Management.

All charges and allegations in the complaints are merely accusations, and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
