An updated guide is available for recreation programs and facilities within the township for all age groups. The publication includes contact information, websites, and email addresses for sports leagues, special programs and events, playgrounds and sports facilities, senior citizen services and organizations, annual community events, and the Recreation Advisory Board.
The directory, developed by the Jefferson Township Recreation Department, provides general information. For details such as registration, dates, times, and locations of specific programs, contact the Recreation Department or independent sports associations directly using the information provided. Registration for all Recreation Department programs must be done online through Community Pass.
To view the new recreation directory, visit www.jeffersontownship.net and scroll down to the Form Center link on the left. Information will be updated when possible during the course of the year. Printed copies can be picked up from display racks at the municipal building, public library, and Recreation Department office at Camp Jefferson.
To view all Recreation Department offerings, including information on the Camp Jefferson Summer Day Camp program, visit the town website. Click on Departments and scroll down to Recreation.
Program announcements are also posted on the Jefferson Township Facebook page; the town calendar (from the town website, click on Events Calendar); the Board of Education website (scroll down to Virtual Backpack); Hopatcong Lake Regional News; and The Jefferson Chronicle. In February, look for The Jefferson Chronicle DIGEST, a new monthly print edition of the online news outlet that will be available in many township locations.
For additional information, contact the Jefferson Township Recreation Department at 973-663-8404 x2 (Grace Rhinesmith, director) or x4 (Carol Punturieri, program coordinator).
