The 13th annual Christmas in the Village event will take place on Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the historic Village of Milton (vicinity of the Jefferson Township Museum on Dover-Milton Road, Oak Ridge). The event is coordinated by the Jefferson Arts Committee (JAC).

Reservations are now being accepted for higher-end handcrafters and direct sales business vendors (Avon, Tupperware, etc.) who wish to participate in “The Village Marketplace.”

A limited number of vendor spaces, approximately 10’ wide by 8’ deep, are available for $25 each in the Company No. 1 firehouse (162 Milton Road). The heated, secure indoor location has convenient free parking and easy access. Setup will begin at 8 a.m. with breakdown immediately after the event. The JAC will provide each vendor with one table, one chair, and electricity if required, but vendors must provide their own extension cords.

Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. No duplicate specific direct sales business vendors will be allowed (call 973-697-3828 if interested before submitting paperwork). Care will be taken to not duplicate craft vendors where possible, especially in the line of jewelry. Vendors applying for the first time are asked to either submit a photo of the merchandise they wish to sell or provide a website for review by the JAC. Photos are not required of vendors from 2017 who intend to sell the same items.

Registration forms are online at (click on the upper right-hand corner of any page).

The Jefferson Arts Committee is scheduling live entertainment in the firehouse, which will attract the public inside to shop during and between performances. The Fire Company No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary will sell lunch items, snacks, and refreshments. In addition, the JAC will conduct a 50/50 raffle to be drawn at 4 p.m. in the firehouse.

Live entertainment and food offerings are also planned at other venues in the area, such as St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, the Jefferson Township Museum, and Milton United Methodist Church – all within walking distance of each other and the firehouse. Other sites include the Milton First Aid Squad building, Jefferson Senior Center, American Legion Post 423, Jefferson Township Gazebo, and Camp Jefferson.

As detailed information becomes available, it will be posted on the JAC website, the Jefferson Arts Committee and Township of Jefferson Facebook pages, The Jefferson Chronicle, and Hopatcong Lake Regional News. For questions or comments, email or call 973-697-3828.
