The following comes from Grace Rhinesmith, Director of Jefferson Township’s Recreation Department:

Dear Summer Camp Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the township’s decision to close the summer day camp at Camp Jefferson for the 2020 summer due to COVID 19. This decision was not made lightly and was the culmination of many meetings with many township officials. Please know that the safety of our campers, their families, and staff were at the center of our decision at all times and we have their best interests at heart.

For those of you that started registration early and decided to make payments, we will be closing out your registrations and processing your full refunds right away. Please note, it does take about 4 to 6 weeks to complete the process.  For those of you that signed up but did not make a payment yet, we will be closing out your summer registrations from our computer system so that it reflects a zero balance due.

So stay Jefferson Strong! We will see you in  2021!  If  you should have any questions about our recreation programs,  or  have suggestions as to what programs (virtual or otherwise) can help keep your children busy this summer, please feel free to contact the recreation office during our office hours of Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Someone should be in the office during  those hours, but if we miss you, we will call you back.

Thank you for your patience during this most difficult and unusual time.
